A freelancer’s website should define services and the working process
A freelancer’s website should explain services, examples, pricing, and the working process. A professional title alone may not tell clients which tasks they can commission.
A designer, for example, might offer logos, web layouts, or revisions to existing materials. Describe the work you actually accept.
Describe the deliverable for each service
Under each service, state the deliverable, required information, and client preparation. Explain how your contribution in an example relates to the offered service.
For custom quotes, list relevant factors such as workload, timing, and revisions. Describe any difference between one-off and ongoing engagements.
Explain the route from enquiry to delivery
Outline enquiry, discussion, quote agreement, production, review, and delivery. Describe payment and usage arrangements according to your actual agreement.
Publish availability and a response estimate you can meet. Reflect holidays or a pause in new work near the contact route too.
For an initial discussion, request the work, desired date, budget, and references. Explain required inputs and how to indicate an undecided item. (W3C form instructions)
Add recurring questions to the service guide. When updating examples, remove outdated explanations that no longer reflect your work.
