Visitor tasks determine the content and publishing requirements
Plan what visitors do, what they read, and who publishes and edits it. Someone comparing a price needs different content from someone finding an address.
Use these three steps to identify unfinished work rather than assuming every business needs the same four pages.
Start with the visitor’s task
Review enquiries for questions about costs, use, or location. Price enquiries suggest quote criteria; directions questions suggest entrance information.
Select a first-release task. If another task needs a lengthy different explanation, use a detail page.
Identify missing copy and approvals
List available copy, photographs, and price information and their owners. Assign writers, approvers, and deadlines for required launch content.
Remove placeholder prices and contacts. If a price is undecided, publish only the agreed quoting method.
Test publication and editing before committing
Try phone layouts and keyboard navigation through links and controls. Keyboard access and visible focus are review checks. (W3C — Easy Checks)
Choose a method that lets the assigned editor revise and publish copy. Test contact delivery after launch too.
